Services

  • ELECTRIC TESTS

I perform dielectric and magnetic tests, inspections and verifications to
gather the information needed to arrive a comprehensive diagnosis of rotating electrical machines assets.

  • DIAGNOSIS

I carry out a comprehensive condition assessment based on the test results, historic reports of overhauls, inspections and maintenance. The goal is to obtain a omprehensive diagnosis of the electrical equipment, to program the maintenance actions in the most safety and efficient way.

  • SUPERVISION

As an on-site technical advisor, my objective is guarantee a close supervision of the maintenance, major overhaul and rehabilitation tasks, based on the lattest international standars and the best professional practice.

  • COORDINATION

The success of any work depends on the coordination of the tasks, professional workers teams, technical equipment and useful tools.

In this sense, I carry out the coordination of the work on site, seeking the optimization of the resources, to avoid overlays that will cost your company higher costs.

  • REPORTS

My clients receive a report of the activities carried out during the day, the tasks planned for the next day, the conflicts and difficulties recorded, and a daily update of the work programme.

In this way, the teams can be coordinated to complete the work in a timely manner.

  • This work proposes a deterministic model to estimate the condition status of the insulation system of the stator windings of high-power electric generators.

The proposed model integrates different condition indicators in order to establish an order of priority of intervention in hydro generators.
To improve the asset management planning and in particular, scheduled maintenance tasks related to the winding stator insulation system, a dielectric test manager for rotating electrical machines (GEDMER) was developed in the environment NI LabView.

Key words: Hydro generators, Winding Insulation, Stator Windings, Dielectric tests, Deterministic Model, Condition Indicators, Asset management, Maintenance operations.

  • Diagnosis of the State of Isolation of Hydroelectric Generators Based on the Corona Test.

The main objective of this work is to identify the presence of Partial Discharges (PD), particularly corona discharges in the stator winding of hydro generators; using the ultrasound method. So that, this document presents the methodological procedures necessary to perform the assay and the PD localization technique.
This test is carried out with the stator winding energized at nominal voltage of a 172.5 MVA (13.2Kv) hydro generator in which those bars exposed to voltages higher than 4Kv were monitored.

  • Parameters to Consider in the Maintenance for Forecasting the Useful Life of Power Transformers.

The participation of the transformers within the electrical systems is extremely important. Its price, size, performance and technical importance are factors that justify any technological development carried out with the aim of improving its efficiency and/or increasing the level of protection of this machine.

In this sense, this article presents a review on the most relevant methodologies for estimating the Useful Life Time (ULT) of power transformers.

  • Finite Element Analysis Application for High Voltage Bushing Failure Studies in Power Transformers.

Power transformers represent one of the most important and expensive elements that make up electrical generation and transmission systems. Despite being highly reliable machines, transformers suffer failures, where the 15% of them occurs in bushings.

So that, in ths work the analysis of an electrical fault (grounding through the vat) occurred in the high voltage bushing of a 172, 5 MVA power transformer– 13, 2/512,5kV; belonging to a power generated company in Argentina.

This study basically consists of analysing, through simulation results, how the electrical field distribution within the bushing equalizer screen, varies for two specific points.

The goal is to determine whether the discharge through the vat was originated due to a high concentration of electric field caused by the “tilt” of the equalizer screen, which reduced the distance with the vat.

  • Forecast of the Useful Life of Transformers Considering the Degradation of the Insulating Paper

This work presents a study on the main methodologies for estimating the Useful Life Time (ULT) of power transformers, which are based on thermal models.

Statistical data show that the risk of failure increases for transformers who have between 40 and 45 years of operation due to the degradation of insulating paper.

So, for the analysis of oil degradation and insulating paper, we have to consider the influence of the operating temperature of the transformer on the thermal model.
